Christian Choo

Christian founded a charity to strengthen and enrich families, serving as its Executive Director for 12 years. He grew the charity from a start-up to a credible and sustainable organisation which received the Work-Life Achievers Award in 2008 and 2010, and the Singapore Quality Class in 2008. In that time, he established four Student Care Centres and a Learning Support Programme for children who have difficulties coping with the demands of mainstream schools. He has designed, facilitated and implemented family life programmes in parenting, relationships, personal growth and learning; and had led a team of counsellors in providing family life programmes in schools, corporations and in the prisons.

Prior to setting up the charity, he had worked 12 years for multi-national corporations in positions of sales manager, general manager and human resource development consultant. Harnessing his experience and expertise in experience-based learning in business and education, Christian started ZigZag Learning in 2011 to build social-emotional skills in schools and in corporations.

Christian holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from the University of Sheffield, a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from the National University of Singapore and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Satir Systemic Brief Therapy. He is also a WSQ certified trainer and assessor, having attained the Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA).

Petrine Woo

Petrine was leading a team of teachers in four student care centres and heading the Community Engagement team in a charity before she started Zigzag Learning in 2011. She has over 15 years of experience engaging children in learning, creative play, behaviours and emotions management. Her passion to help under-achieving children and years of direct work with them, has honed her ability to engage children and turn complex concepts into simple manageable steps to facilitate their learning. A decisive and action-oriented leader, she had initiated many projects that brought learning out of the classroom into real life application opportunities for the children in her centres.

Petrine is a certified HR practitioner and was instrumental in leading her former organisation in attaining the Work Life Achievers Award and the Singapore Quality Class Award. She is a WSQ certified trainer and assessor, having attained the Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) and is now pursuing her WSQ Diploma in Adult Continuing Education.
